What the app stores, and where

Everything DayProof knows lives on your device.

• Your stays. Where you were and when, as dates and place names, plus how each day was recorded — entered by hand, confirmed by you, or detected. This is the record the audit report is built from.
• Coordinates, only if you turn on automatic location. When automatic tracking is on, iOS tells the app when you have moved a significant distance or completed a visit. The coordinates it hands over are turned into a state or country on your device, using boundary data shipped inside the app. They are kept in a separate local store that is never synchronised anywhere.
• Your settings. Which places you track, your chosen language, alert lead times, and whether you have unlocked Pro.

Automatic location is off until you turn it on, and iOS asks for your permission before the app receives anything. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, or revoke the permission in the iOS Settings app.

What leaves your device

One thing, and only when a rule correction is published:

• DayProof can fetch a public file of residency-rule corrections — the thresholds and citations the app counts against — at most once a day. It is an ordinary web request for a fixed file. It carries no identifier, no location, and nothing about you; the server cannot tell one reader from another beyond the fact that some device asked for a file. In the current release this check is disabled entirely.

There is nothing else. No usage statistics, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier, no third-party SDK of any kind.

Purchases

DayProof Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether a subscription or purchase is currently active. We never see your name, your payment method, or your Apple Account.

Deleting your data

• A single stay: swipe it away in the timeline.
• All recorded coordinates: Settings › What's stored › Delete stored coordinates. Your stays are kept; only the raw coordinates go.
• Everything: delete the app. Because nothing is stored off the device, removing DayProof removes the data with it.

There is no account to close and no request to send us — we hold nothing to delete.

Children

DayProof is a record-keeping tool for adults dealing with tax residency and immigration day counts. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a substantive change will be described in the App Store release notes rather than made quietly.
